Course Overview
The course is designed to provide the student with a fun and safe introduction to the sport of scuba diving. The course is broken down into 3 segnments: classroom, pool and open water dives. Students will also need to do some home study to complete the course. PADI Open Water Certification will be awarded to students completing the course.
Student Requirements
Students are requred to purchase their own personal dive mask, fins and snorkel for all water sessions. The student is responsible for transportation to the open water site and acquiring an exposure suit if necessary. The student will also be responsible for air fills and park entrance fees at the open water site.
If the student has access to their own, approved Scuba equipment (regulator. alternate air source, pressure gauge, depth gauge, compass and buoyancy compensator) prior to the first pool session, they may deduct the equipment rental fee from the course fee. Otherwise Scuba gear will be provided for each student.
Each student must pass a water skill evaluation consisting of a 200 yd swim and 10 minute tread water.
Attendence to all class and pool sessions is necessary to advance to the open waters dives. Any missed sessions will require a make-up class at the cost of $25 per class.
Open water dives must be completed within 6 months of completion of the last pool session.
Instructor Will Provide - Professional instruction
- All tests, paperwork, books and all certification fees required by PADI for the course
- Scuba Equipment
- Tanks for pool and open water dives
- Air fills through the pool sessions
The instructor will schedule class, pool and open water site and dates, make the final decision on the acceptability of the conditions at the site and provide emergency plans and assistance to provide a safe learning environment.
Course Fee
The course fee is $330.00 per person with a 4 student minimum per class. The instructor will help fill classes with interested individuals.

- Instruction at 5 class sessions, 5 pool sessions and 4 open water dives
- Equipment Rental
- Tank and air fills for pool sessions
- Pool fees
- Required books and materials
- Log Book
- PADI Open Water Diver Certification fee
